Chapter three
Danial held Abbies dress close. A stray tear leaked from the corner of his eye though he tried to keep it in. he looked at it as if it were a stranger that had no right to be there. Shadow wined loudly, bringing Danial back to the present. Who would have done this? he questioned out loud. Danial slowly stood up and looked at the scorched ground. Why would anyone want to level some thing so thorough, to wreck such havoc and destruction, to hurt anyone, how could some one do such a thing? Easy. a cold slithering voice answered. That voice sent shivers up his spine and he knew who hated him, who had sent that cold blast of rage and anger at him. Danial turned around slowly, not wanting to see the horrible sight that he knew awaited him.
Danial turned to see a man or something that somewhat resembled a man. He was holding Shadow tightly by the scruff of his neck, causing him to wine louder than even before. Come, you stupid boy or Ill break this chickens neck. The strange voice hissed. Hes not a chicken, and I no intention what so ever to join in your game. Said Danial. The strangers laugh sent a wave of putrid breath his way making him gag. The stranger took his arm none to gently and tossed Shadow down to the ground. He dragged Danial along the ground so fiercely that he thought his arm would fall off. His eyes glazed at the pain and he clenched his teeth. The strangers nails clawed into his arms, drawing blood, that ran down his arm like a warm red river. He opened his eyes long enough to see Shadow standing there dejectedly some how knowing that this time he could not follow.
Danial was dragged over sticks and roots, they jabbed him in the back as he tried to squirm away. Danial finally gave up, whats the use of fighting an amazingly strong man such as the one whom was dragging him. Danial knew that he would only hurt himself more if he struggled. After a while they reached a clearing the man produced a wickedly sharp looking tool, the man wet it in something and then jabbed it into his arm. Danial screamed startling a horse that he hadnt noticed earlier. Danial started to fill drowsy and was barely aware of being tied and thrown up on a horse. He remembered nothing more till he awoke in a clearing. He was soaking wet and guest that he had been awoken with a bucket of water. When he looked up it was into the cold eyes of a stranger, taller than the first, but just as cold, wearing the same black robe.
